Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Has Won Oscar 2016
The Pakistani Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, in her second time, has won the Oscar award 2016. She is the first Pakistani women, who have been not only nominated for two times in Oscar but also has won the Oscar award both times. This second award has been awarded to Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy on her documentary short subject “A Girl in the River” that was themed on honor killing in Pakistani society.
Ms Chinoy has won the Oscar in competition among four nominees, including, Body Team 12, Chau Beyond the Lines, Claude Lanzmann Spectres of Shoah, A girl in the River The Price of Forgiveness and Last Day of Freedom. This is the second time, Ms Chinoy has beaten her competitors and won the Oscar with second time consecutively. See the following video about her winning moments and winning speech.
